About this Particular Crystal
Truthfully, I wanted to keep this piece. This year in Tucson, a new find of cobaltan calcite from the DRC was released, and it was incredible. Cobaltan calcite is a pink variety of calcite colored by trace amounts of cobalt within its structure, giving it naturally saturated pink to magenta tones that are often more vivid than other pink stones. It typically forms in fine, sparkling aggregates rather than large, defined crystals, so this production of more substantial, well-formed crystals felt especially rare.
This piece displays gemmy pink cobalt-bearing calcite crystals, lightly dusted with the dreamiest robin’s egg blue chrysocolla. The combination of these two minerals brings together a sense of brightness and calm that feels instantly uplifting. It creates clarity around what you’re feeling and how to express it, while retaining gratitude for what is already working. This stone resonates with both the heart and throat.
