About this Particular Crystal

I love all of the stones I source, but this was hands down one of my favorite pieces that I brought back from Tucson. Calcites from Daye, China, are among the most well-known and recognizable calcites from the region. This specimen features two well-formed peach calcite crystals with the characteristic “diamond” shape for which these pieces are known, perched on a sparkling matrix of smaller calcite crystals. From the front alone, I immediately knew I needed to get it. But when I picked it up, I saw how lustrous, gemmy, and saturated the back was as well. Many specimens are strongest from one angle; this one feels complete from every side. The composition is beautifully balanced, with a rich, dreamy, almost bellini-esque peach tone that gives the entire piece warmth and depth.

About the Mineral: Calcite

Calcite is one of the most versatile and energetically dynamic minerals, known for its ability to dissolve stagnant energy and support transformational healing. I often refer to calcite as “The Eraser” because of how effectively it clears energetic debris and helps create space for new insights, emotions, and growth. Think of it as the exfoliator of the crystal world. It removes old patterns so a fresh, aligned layer can emerge.

Calcite’s energy becomes more targeted when paired with color. Each hue corresponds to a chakra or emotional theme, and calcite works by dissolving the specific blocks associated with that frequency. It is a striking example of Earth’s natural geometry. Rhomboid calcites feel especially precise in their energy and are powerful tools for removing stuckness in a clear, targeted way.
