About this Particular Crystal

The Tucson Gem Show is vast, with an overwhelming amount of material to explore. At one point, I was ready to leave, thinking there was nothing that caught my interest. Then I stumbled upon a hotel booth run by a delightful Italian mineral dealer, featuring a wonderful selection of pieces from his home country, many dating back to a 1970s collection. I love sourcing minerals from Italy because the production is often smaller in scale and older. This specimen features deep wine-red almandine–spessartine garnets naturally embedded in a creamy, contrasting matrix. The Codera Valley is a classic Italian Alpine locality, renowned for its garnet-bearing pegmatites and highly regarded by mineral collectors. Deep red garnets resonate strongly with the lower chakras, supporting strength, focus, and steady creative output.

About the Mineral: Red Garnet

There are six main types of garnet. They range in color and composition, with each one having its own unique energetic tone. Garnets are especially aligned with prosperity because they help translate desire into form.
