Grounding is the process of energetically connecting with the physical world, in both body and spirit. Grounding stones resonate at the first chakra (root), which is linked to our physical well-being and how we exist within our bodily vessels. Thus grounding stones help you to effectively address energetic stimuli and toxic energy that can prevent you from feeling settled in your physical body. They assist you with eliminating this unwanted energy (from the 1st chakra or root chakra) and provide protection from negative or draining energy, whether from external sources or from self-produced ones. With their presence, you can gently integrate their pure earth energy into your personal field (auric egg) so that you can resonate more comfortably with your surroundings and in your physical body. The safer and more fluid you feel as a physical being, the more at peace and present you are, which is the key to experiencing an enjoyable physical reality.
When you ground, you allow any excess energy to be released from your field so that it can be absorbed and filtered by the Earth. While working with grounding stones, you can use complementary visualization techniques to actively eliminate any energy that does not serve you. This may be energy that you have transformed through unhealthy decisions, or it may be energy that you have unconsciously taken on from other people. If you are empathic, it is absolutely essential for you to constantly ground because as sponges, you are always being affected by influences that were not intended for you.
