About this Particular Crystal

A long time ago I bought this crystal thinking it was smithsonite. It recently occurred to me that it wasn’t, and I’ve since identified it as stellerite, which is a completely new mineral to me. I think this piece is absolutely adorable, with small, fibrous clusters of creamy orange, radiating balls that look like little starbursts dotted along a grey matrix. I haven’t given it a moniker yet, as I don’t feel I know it well enough. So for the adventurous person who’s interested in getting to know a new mineral, this one is for you!
