Reyner Banham’s seminal work on Los Angeles and its defining attributes. Banham was a Brit but it was his outside perspective that enabled him to capture and write about the city so perfectly. The book cover with David Hockney’s “A Bigger Splash” is equally emblematic of Los Angeles.
