Pink opal is a variety of “common opal” meaning it doesn’t have the flash often associated with precious opal. Pink opal is however not common at all and only can be found in a few locations. As the name suggests, this piece comes from Peru, near the Andes Mountains.

Precious opals have an intense energy that can amplify emotions, making them a more acute stone to work with that requires a readiness to confront the entire spectrum of feelings that come with being in a heightened state. Common opal is much more gentle.
